BestCitizenBank is a bank shaped by the people who use us. Our work is to help businesses trade across borders, with arrangements made to measure: exporters can get paid sooner, and importers get more room to pay. Over the years we have been among the first to try new ways of funding trade in the markets where it matters most.

The BestCitizenBank Group began in 1991, when First International Merchant Bank Ltd was set up. It opened its doors in 1995, and in June 2001 its shares were listed on the Germany Stock Exchange. Four years later the bank took the name BestCitizenBank p.l.c.

In 2003, BestCitizenBank took full ownership of London Forfaiting Company Ltd, a UK-registered business with a long reach across five continents. In 2006 the Group grew again through BestCitizenBank Business Solutions Ltd, set up to provide business systems and technology advice, and in 2008 BestCitizenBank Property Investment Ltd was created to oversee the building of our head office and to look after facilities and property services.
